2024-10-24

Apple has recently rolled out the initial beta version of iOS 18.2 to developers, unveiling a range of Apple Intelligence capabilities.

Reportedly, the latest release introduces functionalities like emoji generation through Genmoji, image creation with Image Playground, expanded AI-assisted writing tools, and integration with ChatGPT. Furthermore, the iPhone 16 lineup users can take advantage of the Visual Intelligence feature for camera-based searches. This update also broadens the geographic support for Apple Intelligence features.

iOS 18.2 is set to provide users with the second installment of Apple Intelligence features. The initial set, featuring an enhanced Siri and notification summaries, is slated for release next week alongside the official launch of iOS 18.1.

During the WWDC event in June 2024, Apple unveiled its Apple Intelligence feature roadmap, indicating a phased rollout of these enhancements. Among the most anticipated is Siri’s capability to interpret on-screen content on the iPhone and perform actions based on user commands. However, this particular feature is not included in iOS 18.2.

Furthermore, Apple has launched the initial developer beta of macOS Sequoia 15.2, featuring new Apple Intelligence tools. However, it reportedly omits the Genmoji functionality.
