"OpenAI Introduces Ratings and Enhanced Configurations for GPT Store"
OpenAI has announced two significant updates to its GPT Store marketplace, enhancing the transparency and discoverability of GPT. Users can now rate customized GPTs and provide private feedback directly to the builders. The expanded profile pages also allow users to gain deeper insights into the creation and usage of the chatbots.
The first change introduces a 1-5 star rating system below each listed GPT, enabling users to easily vote on the quality of their experience. Clickable feedback also facilitates private communication, allowing users testing the novel generative pre-trained transformer models to report issues or suggestions directly to the developers without public exposure. To protect privacy, the developers' email addresses remain optional.
Furthermore, the profile pages now prominently display detailed information about the creators, such as social media handles, overall average ratings, total comments, usage metrics, and other relevant GPTs. These upgrades provide relevant signals for users to evaluate the community AI partners in the directory, complementing OpenAI's original intention to stimulate participation through API access and revenue sharing.
Although the ability to offer paid GPTs is not currently available, the affirmation of transparency and two-way communication demonstrates OpenAI's ongoing investment in the participatory marketplace, allowing external developers to experiment on top of its base models.
