Google's next-generation artificial intelligence model Gemini delayed until next year.

Google has quietly delayed the launch of its conversational AI project Gemini from November to early 2024.

  • According to reports, Google's highly anticipated AI model Gemini has been delayed.
  • The media reported that the debut of Gemini has been postponed to early 2024 due to issues with processing non-English signals.
  • This untested AI is said to have unparalleled text and image generation capabilities.

The world will have to wait a while longer to experience the launch of Google's most complex artificial intelligence model to date.

Gemini is described as the next generation of AI and multimodal, meaning it can handle various types of data, including text and images, as well as other types of content - such as websites - with the ability to understand and generate based on sketches.

According to anonymous sources familiar with the decision, the undisclosed launch event scheduled for next week in New York, Washington, and California has been quietly rescheduled to early 2024 due to the AI's unreliable intuition in responding to some non-English prompts and queries.

Although it has not been publicly released, Gemini is said to surpass OpenAI's GPT-4 in computational power.

"I've seen some amazing things," said Sissy Hsiao, Google's Vice President and General Manager. "It's like, I'm trying to bake a cake, and I'm given three photos of how to ice a three-layer cake, and Gemini actually creates these images."

Hsiao added, "These are all brand new images. These are not images taken from the internet. It's now able to communicate with humans using images, not just text."

While Google already has its own generative AI model called Bard, ChatGPT has enjoyed strong consumer awareness so far, but analysts believe this may change when Gemini is finally launched.
