Celonis announces its AI-powered Process Copilot

2023-11-15

At the Celosphere annual conference, process mining leader Celonis announced a new AI assistant called Process Copilot. Process Copilot aims to work collaboratively with analysts to help businesses quickly identify and take action to improve processes and performance. Process Copilot allows users to have natural conversations with their data. Its natural language processing understands queries and recommends relevant follow-up questions and insights. For example, users can ask to understand top-line performance indicators. Process Copilot will provide three starting suggestions for in-depth exploration. It can also suggest applying filters in Celonis' Process Explorer to analyze data from different perspectives. Paige Andrews, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Celonis, said, "We have created an interface where analysts can directly converse with Celonis, ask questions, seek insights, and find opportunities for process improvement." As a virtual assistant focused on process mining, Process Copilot aims to simplify and expedite the process of finding ways to optimize business processes. Users can ask questions to first understand their current processes, then identify improvement opportunities, and ultimately take action based on the findings. Process Copilot relies on Celonis' existing large-scale language model for generating process queries. This marks a significant step for the company in achieving true understanding of organizational workflow goals with AI. In an open letter, Celonis co-founder Alex Rinke wrote that process intelligence provides AI with the necessary context about an organization's unique business processes. This enables organizations to fully leverage the transformative potential of AI. Process Copilot sits at the intersection of process mining and AI. It harnesses Celonis' powerful process dataset and makes insights more easily accessible through a conversational interface. Process Copilot is one of several new features announced at the Munich event. Others include Process Intelligence Graph, Transformation Hub, and Studio updates. The assistant is currently in the testing phase and represents a key investment for Celonis in utilizing artificial intelligence to help customers accelerate their journey towards process excellence.
