2024-01-18

Ye Jun, the President of DingTalk, recently gave an interview to reporters, discussing DingTalk's development strategy as one of the "Four Little Dragons" of Alibaba, as well as its innovation and layout in the AI Agent field.

Ye Jun stated that as an independent operating entity of the Alibaba Group, DingTalk has received more support and space from the group, while also shouldering greater responsibilities and pressures. He revealed that DingTalk's goal is to achieve a balance between profit and loss in the 2025 fiscal year, with customer value being the core driving force of DingTalk.

DingTalk's exploration in the AI Agent field began the day before OpenAI launched the GPT Store. DingTalk introduced its own AI Agent product, "AI Assistant," which is based on Alibaba's Thousand Questions model and provides intelligent document processing, application creation, and other functions for users.

Ye Jun believes that AI Agent is the super entrance to applications, as it can provide personalized services and interactions based on users' intentions and behaviors. He expects that DingTalk will launch the AI Agent Store in April, creating the most active AI Agent ecosystem in China and generating 10 million AI assistants within three years.

Ye Jun also shared his outlook on the future development of AI Agents. He believes that AI Agents will disrupt the way people use computers, eliminating the need for users to search websites, log in to applications, or shop on websites. Instead, everything will be entrusted to AI Agents, making them better understand and meet users' needs. He said that this is a profound revolution in interaction, and whoever can dominate personal assistants will make a significant impact.

Ye Jun also admitted that the implementation of AI Agents still faces some challenges, mainly in terms of understanding and designing scenarios. He stated that in the future, more people who understand scenarios will need to participate in the development of AI Agents, leveraging the capabilities of large models to develop different assistant and agent products. He also revealed that transactional agents will definitely emerge in the future, and many individuals will develop such applications, greatly enhancing users' creativity.
