Meta launches enhanced AI tool to boost diversity in advertising creativity

Meta is launching a series of enhanced generative AI tools for its advertisers, significantly expanding the range of creative ad variations. These updates build upon the foundation introduced last October and now allow advertisers to generate complete image transformations and stunning text overlays.

In the past, Meta's AI tools only allowed modifications to the background of ad images. However, the latest updates expand this functionality, allowing advertisers to transform the entire visual presentation of their ads, not just the background. For example, an ad that originally depicted a coffee cup can now be redesigned to showcase the coffee cup in different environments, such as lush coffee farms, with the cup itself displaying different angles and colors.

Additionally, Meta has introduced text overlay capabilities, offering advertisers over a dozen popular font styles to choose from. The image expansion feature has also been upgraded, allowing creative assets to be adjusted to fit different aspect ratios. It is now compatible with Instagram and Facebook's Reels and Feed, seamlessly integrating with the text overlay functionality.

On the text generation front, Meta's AI can now create variations not only for the main body text but also for ad headlines. The company is testing the ability to generate text that reflects brand voice and tone based on previous ad campaigns and text inputs.

These enhanced generative AI capabilities will be available through Advantage+ Creative in the Ads Manager, aiming to expedite the ad creation process and improve ad effectiveness. Meta plans to roll out these features globally by the end of this year.

These tools are part of Meta's broader strategy to automate and optimize ad creation on its platforms, including Instagram and Facebook. With features like image expansion and text overlay now integrated into various content formats like Reels and Feed, advertisers can efficiently adjust their creative assets to fit different digital environments.

In addition to AI updates, Meta has expanded its enterprise subscription service, Meta Verified, to new markets including Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Peru, France, and Italy. The service offers four subscription plans, all of which include verification badges, account support, and impersonation monitoring, with higher-tier plans offering additional benefits.

By the end of this year, it is expected that all updated generative AI features will be available globally, bringing significant improvements to how advertisers create and manage ad content on the Meta platform.
