At the 2024 Mobile World Congress (MWC 2024), OPPO unveiled its latest AR glasses, aiming to provide users with an enhanced augmented reality experience. During the event, the company showcased a prototype of its XR (Extended Reality) device, which features a voice assistant and utilizes artificial intelligence technology to enrich users' visual experience. The design of these AR glasses resembles regular eyeglasses, making them easy for users to wear. Once worn, users can view virtual content against the backdrop of the real world. According to reports, this virtual content may include various types of information and navigation guidance. Users can control this content through touch-sensitive sensors on the glasses frame and connect it with OPPO smartphones. These glasses incorporate OPPO's AndesGPT Large Language Model (LLM) and are expected to be launched in the Chinese market. This conversational model can assist users in information search and dialogue, and even help with tasks such as travel planning. OPPO believes that smart glasses will become the best companion to smartphones and an ideal carrier for AI technology due to their visual and voice interaction capabilities. In terms of specifications, these AR glasses weigh approximately 50 grams and have a peak brightness of over 1000 nits. With OPPO's self-developed resin waveguide technology, the glasses have a refractive index of up to 1.70. Users can control functions such as music playback, voice calls, interactive screen interaction, and photo browsing through the glasses. Additionally, the glasses are equipped with four microphones to suppress noise and enhance audio output. It is worth mentioning that these Air Glass 3 XR glasses are equipped with a full-color display screen capable of streaming media content. However, as a prototype, this device has not been officially released yet.
