Hugging Face has unveiled the macOS edition of its open-source chat application, Hugging Chat. This release supports a variety of top-tier open-source large language models, including Qwen 2.5 72B, Command R+, Phi 3.5, and Mistral 12B. Moreover, the application incorporates features such as web searching and code syntax highlighting, with plans to add more functionalities in the future. Importantly, all these features are available at no cost.
Designed specifically for Mac users, Hugging Chat offers a tailored interface that ensures an intuitive and seamless user experience. Users can effortlessly launch the application using the keyboard shortcut ⌘ + Shift + Return.
The Hugging Chat macOS application is currently in the testing phase (v0.5.0). The development team is inviting community members to engage in the testing process, focusing on aspects such as the login procedure, conversational interactions (including model switching, message generation, and Markdown formatting), and personalization settings (like code display preferences and interface customization). Additionally, the overall performance of the software will be assessed.
