At a press conference held at the White House, the "Stargate Project," an artificial intelligence data center system construction plan, was officially unveiled. This initiative was announced by SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, and MGX's major equity investor - Masayoshi Son, Sam Altman, Larry Ellison, and Donald Trump. They declared that their companies would invest 500 billion dollars to build new AI infrastructure for OpenAI in the United States over the next four years.

According to a statement released by OpenAI, "Arm, Microsoft, Nvidia, Oracle, and OpenAI" have initiated the project in Texas as the first batch of technology partners and are currently evaluating other potential sites across the United States. The statement further indicated that Oracle, Nvidia, and OpenAI will collaborate on constructing and operating this computing system.

Additionally, Microsoft announced updates to its partnership with OpenAI, emphasizing that key cooperation elements between both parties will continue until 2030, including "access to OpenAI's intellectual property, revenue-sharing arrangements, and exclusive use of OpenAI's API." Notably, Microsoft stated that OpenAI has made "a new large-scale Azure commitment," pledging continued support for all OpenAI products and training. However, there has been an adjustment in the exclusive arrangement for new capacity, where Microsoft will have the right of first refusal before OpenAI establishes new capacity.

During this press conference, the project, which had been under public scrutiny and speculation since early last year, received attention once again. Jack Ma and Altman addressed Trump directly at the meeting, highlighting that the implementation of this project is entirely due to his electoral victory.
