OpenAI CEO Reveals 2025 Technology Roadmap

2025-01-02

Recently, Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, conducted a survey on a platform to gauge user expectations for the company's technology products in 2025. The survey revealed that users are most looking forward to features such as general artificial intelligence (AGI), intelligent agents, a significant upgrade to GPT-4, enhanced memory storage capabilities, a broader context window, and a feature called "adult mode," which aims to reduce content moderation. Additionally, users expressed a desire for improved deep research capabilities and better performance from the Sora video generator.

It is worth noting that one of the highly requested features, enhanced memory storage, is currently in the testing phase, but OpenAI has not yet disclosed any technical details.

Altman also pointed out that some of the features users are expecting are not fully included in OpenAI's 2025 release plans or are not part of the plans at all. Nevertheless, OpenAI still intends to introduce a range of new technologies and products, including AGI, intelligent agents, an upgraded version of GPT-4, enhanced memory, an optimized context window, the introduction of "adult mode," improved deep research features, and better performance from the Sora video generator, as well as enhanced personalization options.

This survey not only reflects users' expectations for OpenAI's future developments but also provides directional guidance for the company's research and development efforts.
