During the Samsung Unpacked 2025 event held on Tuesday, Samsung unveiled three new smartphones: the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. At the same event, Google announced several updates to the Android system, with a particular focus on significant enhancements to its AI assistant, Gemini.
Starting from Tuesday, users can enjoy an improved version of Gemini. The AI assistant now integrates more deeply into various device applications and services. With just one command, users can request it to perform multiple actions across different apps. For instance, when looking for nearby restaurants and sharing options with others, Gemini can leverage Google Maps to suggest recommendations and use Google Messages to send them.
Google has also introduced new Gemini extensions for Samsung's Calendar, Clock, Notes, and Reminder apps.
Furthermore, Samsung showcased new features in Gemini Live, Google's voice interaction tool that offers a conversational experience. Users can now practice important speeches with the assistant and receive instant verbal feedback. Additionally, they can upload images, documents, and YouTube videos during conversations, making Gemini Live more versatile and context-aware.
In the coming months, Samsung will roll out features from Google's real-time, multimodal AI assistant project, Astra. These features, including screen sharing and live video streaming, will initially be available in the Gemini app on Android before expanding to the Galaxy S25 series devices.
The Galaxy S25 lineup includes a new side button, allowing users to quickly access Gemini with a single tap to set reminders, save notes, or check upcoming meetings.
