Microsoft Paint to Receive Major AI Upgrade with Real-time Artistic Creation Features

2024-02-29

According to reports, Microsoft is planning to integrate its AI technology into the Paint application, which will have real-time creative art features similar to Midjourney. Although Paint has been a core product of Microsoft for the past 40 years, its update frequency has not been high. This popular AI image generator allows users to create images in selected styles by inputting text prompts. Today, it has become one of the leading technologies alongside AI technologies such as DALL-E and Stable Diffusion. There are rumors that Paint may undergo a major update. According to the Windows Latest blog, Microsoft may test a new feature called "Live Canvas Panel" in the Paint application. This new feature may be similar to Midjourney and Leonardo.Ai's Live Canvas, which is an AI-driven feature that can generate sketches or digital artworks instantly based on user prompts. It is worth mentioning that Microsoft has already introduced an AI-based feature called Paint Cocreator in the Paint application, which uses OpenAI's DALL-E text-to-image technology. Like other AI-based image generators, Paint Cocreator can create images based on your descriptions. However, this feature is not free. According to the support page of this tool, Microsoft uses a credit system as virtual currency. After joining Cocreator, users will have 50 credit points. Each time an image is created, one credit point will be consumed. Therefore, the success of this development remains to be seen, as there is still limited information about the release date, whether it will be a paid feature, or how the program will be presented.
