Google has recently introduced a new feature for its Gemini AI assistant, enabling subscribers to the Google One AI Premium plan to revisit previous conversations. This enhancement allows the assistant to deliver responses that are more aligned with current needs without requiring users to restate prior chat content or search through history, as Gemini now retains the necessary context.
In addition, users can now ask Gemini to summarize past conversations and build upon existing projects. Previously, Google rolled out a feature that allowed Gemini to "remember" user preferences. This latest update takes things further by permitting the AI to reference earlier discussions.
To protect user privacy, Gemini offers tools to manage chat history. Users can access these settings by tapping their profile icon in the top-right corner of the Gemini app and selecting "Gemini App Activity" to review, delete, and manage their chat records.
Currently, the retrospective functionality is being progressively rolled out to Google One AI Premium subscribers. It can be accessed via the web or mobile versions of the Gemini app, currently supporting English. Google plans to expand this feature to additional languages in the coming weeks and make it available to Google Workspace Business and Enterprise clients.
It's worth noting that ChatGPT also has the ability to recall details and preferences from past conversations.
