OpenAI has expanded its Deep Research feature to include ChatGPT Plus subscribers. Previously, this feature was only available to users of the professional plan, which costs $200 per month. With this update, Plus plan users, who pay just $20 per month, can now access Deep Research without any additional charges.

OpenAI also announced that the Deep Research functionality will be introduced to Team, Edu, and Enterprise plans in the near future. This feature enables users to request detailed reports on almost any topic from ChatGPT. Plus plan users will have access to 10 Deep Research queries per month, while professional plan users will see their monthly limit increase from 100 to 120 queries.

In addition to expanding the availability of the feature, OpenAI has enhanced the functionality of Deep Research. ChatGPT can now embed images when citing information, providing more comprehensive insights. The system's ability to understand file types has also improved, leading to better file analysis results.

To use Deep Research, users need to write a standard prompt and then click the Deep Research icon before submitting the request. Depending on the complexity of the question, ChatGPT may take between 5 to 30 minutes to compile and generate the answer. OpenAI noted that due to the high computational resource requirements of Deep Research, free users will have to wait for some time before they can access this feature.
