Apple May Launch a Truly "Modernized" Siri in 2027

2025-03-03

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is actively working on reinventing Siri for the generative AI era. However, a truly modernized and conversational version of Siri is not expected to arrive until the release of iOS 20 in 2027.

Prior to that, Siri will still receive significant updates. Reports indicate that the new version of Siri is set to debut in May, integrating all Apple Intelligence features announced nearly a year ago.

Gurman revealed that the updated Siri will adopt a "dual-brain" design. One part will handle traditional commands like setting timers and making calls, while the other will manage more advanced queries utilizing user data. The system, internally referred to as "LLM Siri," which merges these two "brains," is expected to be unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, ahead of its official launch in spring 2026.

As Gurman notes, only by that time will Apple be able to fully focus on developing advanced Siri functionalities, which may roll out the following year.
