Tammy Nam Joins AI Advertising Startup Creatopy as CEO

Creatopy, a startup leveraging AI to automate the creation of digital ads, has recently appointed a new CEO: Tammy Nam.

Nam previously served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer at PicsArt, a photo editing startup. Before that, she was the CEO of Viki, a video streaming company. In an email interview with TechCrunch, Nam shared that Creatopy was looking for an executive familiar with the U.S. market who could scale an early-stage startup, had experience working with European founders (the product was initially developed in Romania), and understood marketing technology.

"Fortunately, I meet those criteria," she remarked.

In addition to her role as CEO, Nam will also join Creatopy's board of directors, while the company’s former CEO, Dan Oros, transitions into an advisory position.

The startup has announced a $10 million Series A funding round led by European venture capital firms 3VC and Point Nine. Eva Arh, a partner at 3VC, described Nam in a statement as "one of the best operators I know."

The company claims that between February 2024 and February 2025, its mid-market and enterprise revenue grew by 400%, with most of the growth occurring in the last six months. Notable clients include AstraZeneca, NASCAR, and The Economist.

"What sets Creatopy apart — especially for a relatively lesser-known company — is our ability to secure large enterprise clients in demanding industries like pharmaceuticals and banking," Nam explained.

She added that customers appreciate the platform because of "our intuitive interface, unique product features, and outstanding customer service." Notably, she pointed out that as large language models become "ubiquitous," Creatopy differentiates itself through its "ability to understand customer needs and provide — perhaps ironically — high-touch value on top of AI."

Nam also emphasized brand safety as a "top priority." During account setup, marketing managers upload brand kits that ensure every AI-generated ad aligns with their brand guidelines.

"Our AI doesn't replace strategic thinking; it amplifies it," she said. "Some of our clients have reported productivity increases of tenfold or more, as we eliminate the tedious manual work of generating hundreds of ad variations across sizes, formats, languages, and more."
