Microsoft Launches Copilot for macOS with New Features and Unlimited Usage

2025-02-28

Microsoft has officially launched the macOS version of its Copilot application. Similar to the Windows version, this app provides access to Microsoft's AI assistant via a web interface, allowing users to upload images and generate both visual and textual content.

The macOS version of Copilot introduces a dark mode feature and supports activation of the AI assistant using the Command + Space shortcut, akin to the Alt + Space functionality in the Windows version. Today, Microsoft rolled out this new Copilot Mac app in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Additionally, the iPad version received an update, now including split-screen support.

Users can now log into Copilot on their iPhones or iPads using their Apple ID and upload text or PDF files to ask questions or generate summaries based on document content. This document summarization feature will also be available on the macOS version of the app in the near future.

Notably, just a few days ago, Microsoft announced unlimited access to Copilot Voice and Think Deeper features for free users. Previously, these functionalities (with Think Deeper powered by OpenAI’s o1 model) were restricted for non-paying users. However, Microsoft has now removed these limitations, enabling Copilot users to engage in longer conversations with the AI assistant.
