Analysts believe that this update mainly focuses on improving the interface rather than a significant technological upgrade. The previous custom instruction feature already utilized prompt engineering to guide ChatGPT's style and tone by using user-provided instruction paragraphs to "preset" AI responses, ensuring they meet user requirements and preferences. Currently, the new menu still relies on prompt engineering but presents it in a friendlier manner. OpenAI had previously stated that it would review custom instructions to ensure compliance with terms of service. This policy is expected to remain unchanged in the updated personalization settings. As the user base grows, OpenAI continues to improve ChatGPT by adding features such as real-time web search and a "canvas" interface designed specifically for writing and coding projects. According to statistics, over 300 million users utilize the chatbot weekly as of last December.
