Microsoft is expanding its AI capabilities to Copilot Plus PCs equipped with Intel and AMD chips. Among these features, the real-time captioning function stands out as particularly remarkable. This tool can instantly translate audio into English subtitles and supports multiple languages.
In December of last year, Microsoft began testing the real-time captioning feature on Intel and AMD devices. Now, it has become available to users through the latest Windows 11 update. This update also introduces the Cocreator tool in Paint, an AI-powered feature that generates images based on textual descriptions and the user's current drawing. Additionally, Microsoft has broadened access to its AI-driven image editing and generation tools within the Photos app.
Prior to this, these functionalities were limited to Copilot Plus PCs powered by Qualcomm chips. Last year, Microsoft also started testing the Recall feature on Intel and AMD devices. This feature captures screenshots of user activity on Copilot Plus PCs and allows users to search through them, though its widespread availability timeline remains undisclosed.
At the same time, Microsoft is updating the voice access feature on Qualcomm-powered Copilot Plus PCs. After the update, users of these devices will be able to interact with their PCs using more descriptive and flexible language. Furthermore, Microsoft has added the ability to translate 27 languages into Simplified Chinese. The company stated that it plans to extend these features to Intel and AMD devices in the future.
