Recently, Adobe has introduced new capabilities to the AI assistant within Acrobat software aimed at enhancing users' comprehension of contractual documents. This newly added Contract Intelligence feature enables the PDF management tool's chatbot to automatically detect if a file or scanned document is a contract and summarize intricate contractual language into simpler terms for easier understanding by users.

This feature, offered as an additional service in Acrobat software, is available to users with either free or paid personal accounts at a monthly cost of $4.99. Starting today, the Contract Intelligence update has been rolled out globally across desktop, web, and mobile platforms. According to Adobe, this function currently supports only English, but more languages will be added in the future.

Utilizing this feature, users can swiftly pinpoint critical clauses within contracts, generate citations and suggested questions specific to a given document, and compare changes among up to ten different versions of the same contract to verify consistency and identify discrepancies. This helps users effortlessly recognize important dates, specific policies, and fees within lengthy contracts that are often obscured by extensive text.

Adobe states that the purpose of this feature is to save users time spent deciphering lengthy and complex contracts. A recent survey indicates that 70% of consumers do not fully comprehend all the terms when signing agreements. Abhigyan Modi, head of Adobe Document Cloud, noted that billions of contracts are opened via Adobe Acrobat each month, and the application of artificial intelligence technology will significantly streamline users' contract processing experiences.
