Google Cloud Collaborates with Hugging Face to Develop Artificial Intelligence

2024-02-01

Google Cloud and Hugging Face collaborate to enhance the development of generative AI and ML. This enables developers on the Hugging Face platform to efficiently utilize Google Cloud's AI-optimized infrastructure for training and serving open models. This includes leveraging compute, TPUs, and GPUs to build new generative AI applications. It includes features such as Vertex AI integration, which allows for easy model training, support for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) deployment, and access to Cloud TPU v5e for enhanced performance. Additionally, the partnership plans to introduce support for A3 virtual machines through NVIDIA's H100 Tensor Core GPU in the future. This aligns with Hugging Face's goal of democratizing AI and Google Cloud's commitment to supporting the open-source AI ecosystem. Vertex AI and GKE deployment options on the Hugging Face platform are expected to be available in the first half of 2024. "Google Cloud and Hugging Face share a vision of making generative AI more accessible and impactful for developers," said Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud. "This partnership ensures that developers on Hugging Face can access Google Cloud's purpose-built AI platform, Vertex AI, and our secure infrastructure, accelerating the next generation of AI services and applications." "Through this new partnership, we will enable Hugging Face users and Google Cloud customers to easily leverage the latest open models, as well as Google Cloud's leading AI-optimized infrastructure and tools, including Vertex AI and TPU, to significantly enhance developers' ability to build their own AI models," said Clement Delangue, CEO of Hugging Face.
