Ideogram, claiming to be the "most advanced text-to-image model," has raised $80 million in Series A funding and announced this news to the public with the release of its first version of the text-to-image generation platform and a new subscription model.
Standing out in the fiercely competitive AI image market is crucial with the emergence of new generative AI tools. In fact, DALL-E has recently taken measures to protect its work.
One of Ideogram's main selling points is its ability to generate text within AI-generated images, which is often difficult for other models to achieve. Text on AI-generated images usually appears as unintelligible symbols or, at most, meaningless words arranged in random order.
However, Ideogram seems to be able to generate clear and relevant text within images, which helps it stand out among competitors. Ideogram suggests that its text rendering feature can be used to create personalized emojis, posters, and various slogan products such as T-shirt designs, birthday cards, logos, etc.
Another feature being promoted by Ideogram is the Magic Prompt option, which helps users write detailed prompts for their images. It seems to work like a chat assistant, providing advice on how to fine-tune your prompts.
How Ideogram Works
Like DALL-E, Midjourney, and other AI text-to-image generators, users input prompts in Ideogram and then click "Generate." The tool then provides four images within 30 seconds, each offering different interpretations of the given prompt. Subscribers can download and freely use these images or adjust and generate new batches of images until satisfied.
Using Ideogram requires creating an account. The free account provides 100 images per day (equivalent to 25 prompts). The basic account charges $7 per month and increases the number of images that can be generated per day to 400, along with 1600 priority-generated PNG quality images per month. For $16 per month, users can have unlimited image generation per day and 4000 priority-generated images per month. All three plans have no restrictions on how the images can be used.
