Lenovo Launches New AI Assistant "Xiao Le" to Expand AI PC Ecosystem

2024-01-19

Lenovo announced the new AI assistant, Xiao Le, at yesterday's Savior and Consumer Ecology New Product Launch.

Lenovo referred to 2024 as the AI PC era, stating that future products will embed AI on the edge with local large models. Lenovo believes that AI PCs have five core features: local hybrid AI computing power, personal agent natural language interaction, embedded personal large models, open AI application ecosystem, and device-level personal data and privacy protection.

Lenovo's AI large model strategy adopts a hybrid approach of edge and cloud AI models, and will launch AI PCs, AI smartphones, AI tablets, and AIoT products in the future. Lenovo's new AI voice assistant, Xiao Le, supports "accompanying natural language interaction UI" and can perform tasks such as one-click wake-up, document translation, and PPT creation. The official version is expected to be released in three months.

In addition to Xiao Le, Lenovo also introduced the "Savior AI Digital Assistant" to the Savior series, which also supports AI assistant functions.

In October last year, Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and CEO of Lenovo Group, showcased a series of AI achievements, including Lenovo's first AI PC, large model compression technology, and artificial intelligence twins (AI Twin).

Yang Yuanqing said that smart devices are the ultimate carriers for AI to reach end users. Future personal computers, smartphones, and workstations will all be AI devices.

At the same time, these devices and edge devices that support AI functions will have local knowledge bases to better understand users. Personal large models will use personal data on devices or home servers for inference. Users' personal data will never be shared or sent to public clouds unless authorized by the user. It can even predict tasks based on the user's thinking patterns and autonomously find solutions.
