Meta AI, an AI assistant launched by Meta last September, is now gradually being integrated into the company's multiple applications, including Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Initially, this assistant could only be seen in the message inbox, but now it appears directly on the Facebook homepage and the search boxes of these applications. Users can also access it through the standalone website Meta.ai.
The Meta AI is now supported by the company's newly released Llama 3 model. According to Meta, this is currently the smartest free AI assistant. It has a variety of functions, whether it's helping users plan dinner based on refrigerator ingredients or assisting in exam preparation.
One major advantage of integrating Meta AI into Meta applications is that users can enjoy the assistant's services without leaving the current application. For example, when planning a skiing trip in a Messenger group chat, users can ask Meta AI to help find flights and determine which weekend has the least crowd. All operations are completed within the Messenger application.
In addition, Meta has also integrated Meta AI into Facebook posts. Now, users can directly ask the assistant for more information while browsing posts. For example, when seeing a photo of the Northern Lights in Iceland, users can ask Meta AI for the best time to observe this phenomenon.
Meta AI's image generation capability has also been enhanced. The "Imagine" feature can generate images based on text descriptions provided by users, and now it can be operated in real-time. Users can see the image gradually taking shape with each letter they type, observing how Meta AI turns their imagination into reality. Currently, this feature is being launched in the form of a test version in the United States on WhatsApp and Meta AI web experiences.
The generated images now have higher clarity and better quality, while incorporating more powerful text processing capabilities. Meta suggests that this feature can be widely applied in various fields, such as creating album covers, wedding announcements, or finding inspiration for birthday party decorations and costumes.
In addition to generating static images, Meta AI can now also animate and iterate images in new styles, or convert them into GIFs to share with friends.
This assistant will also be launched in multiple countries outside the United States, including Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, bringing convenience to users in more regions.
