2024-02-27

The World Mobile Communications Congress 2024 is in full swing in Barcelona, and Honor is taking this opportunity to launch its new flagship smartphone, the Magic 6 Pro, emphasizing its future artificial intelligence capabilities.

At this year's MWC conference, artificial intelligence (AI) has undoubtedly become the core strategy of major tech giants, especially evident in Honor. Honor CEO George Zhao, accompanied by Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, announced an important strategy to fully integrate AI into the brand's various products, including smartphones, tablets, and computers.

George Zhao showcased many impressive features, such as the Magic Ring, which enables seamless interaction between different Honor devices. Users can switch screens between devices effortlessly and even control their computers with their smartphones for photography, all without the need for complicated configurations.

The tested Honor Magic 6 Pro is equipped with the MagicOS 14 operating system based on Android 8.0, providing a smooth user experience. Additionally, the phone will soon incorporate more advanced generative AI models, such as MagicLM, similar to ChatGPT, as well as Magic Capsule and Magic Portal.

Magic Capsule utilizes the unique design on the smartphone screen, similar to Apple's Dynamic Island, allowing users to instantly access applications, manage incoming calls, timers, dictation devices, or control music playlists after receiving notifications. Furthermore, with eye-tracking technology, the Magic 6 Pro can accurately identify the user's gaze position on the screen, achieving astonishing demonstrations, such as controlling a car through eye movements.

Another remarkable feature is Magic Portal, which simplifies complex tasks by predicting user needs, such as image recognition for shopping experiences, SMS address recognition, and automatic route planning on Google Maps, all without manual intervention. Honor claims that these features support nearly a hundred of the most commonly used applications worldwide.

Although these features have promising prospects, they have not been fully implemented on the Magic 6 Pro yet and are expected to be officially launched by the end of March. In addition, the news of the release of the MagicBook 16 Pro in France has also attracted widespread attention. This new laptop also incorporates AI technology, which is undoubtedly good news for users who want to fully utilize the Magic Ring feature and experience seamless connectivity between different devices.
