Meta Launches Video Seal Neural Watermark System to Protect AI-Generated Videos

2024-12-16

Recently, Meta announced the successful development and launch of a new neural watermarking system named Video Seal, specifically designed to identify and protect edited AI-generated videos. The watermark remains completely invisible within the video but can verify the video's original source through specialized detection methods, effectively preventing malicious tampering or unauthorized use.

Meta not only open-sourced the entire Video Seal system, including the watermark model, research papers, and training and inference codes, but also adopted the MIT License to facilitate broader promotion and application of this innovative technology. To offer users a more tangible experience of this technology, Meta provided an interactive demonstration platform where users can test the actual performance of Video Seal.

In addition to the Video Seal system, Meta launched two auxiliary tools, further strengthening its position in the watermarking technology field. Among these, Omni Seal Bench can provide comparative rankings of neural watermarks for different types of media, assisting users in selecting the watermark solution that best suits their needs. Meta Watermark Anything is another powerful watermarking tool, also released under the MIT License, offering users more diversified watermark application options.

The introduction of the Video Seal neural watermarking system and its supporting tools by Meta not only showcases Meta's robust capabilities in technological innovation but also provides strong technical support for protecting the copyrights of AI-generated videos.
