Microsoft announced that it will provide the Web AI chat feature Copilot to enterprises and educational institutions in mainland China on December 1, 2023. Copilot is a free AI chat service developed based on the previous Bing Chat Enterprise. It can assist users in various tasks such as searching, translating, writing, and programming. Users can access this feature through Windows Copilot, Bing Chat Enterprise, or Microsoft Edge browser, and the AI model can retrieve data from the internet. Copilot is available for licenses including Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, Business Premium, A3, and A5. It will also support Microsoft 365 F3 and more Microsoft Entra ID users in the future. Entra ID is the new name for Microsoft Azure Active Directory. Microsoft emphasizes that Copilot ensures the privacy of user and business data and does not disclose chat content to external organizations. Microsoft does not have access rights and does not utilize this data for model training.
