Adobe has recently introduced the Firefly Bulk Create tool, an innovative feature that enables users to simultaneously edit tens of thousands of images in batches, significantly enhancing productivity.
Starting today, the web version of Firefly (currently only available in the United States) officially launches the Beta version of its Bulk Create function. This feature focuses on two primary operations: resizing images and changing backgrounds. Users can effortlessly remove the original background and choose new images or specific colors as the new backdrop. The process is straightforward, allowing users to upload photos from their computer, Dropbox, or Adobe Experience Manager platform with just a click.
Currently, batch-processed files can be saved in PNG or JPEG formats. Adobe has pledged to add support for Photoshop PSD files in the future to cater to the needs of more professional users.
In terms of the "resize" tool, Firefly Bulk Create offers a range of preset parameters covering sizes required for advertising banners and major platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, providing significant convenience. Notably, advanced generative AI technology is employed to ensure seamless stretching of backgrounds. However, when dealing with complex backgrounds, reviews by prominent tech site The Verge indicate that there might be slight distortions.
Considering that processing tens of thousands of images requires substantial computational power, Adobe has designated this tool as a paid service. It is expected that access to this feature will likely be restricted to premium members of Adobe Firefly.
As a collection of creative generative AI models, Adobe Firefly can be used both as a standalone web application and integrated into other leading Adobe applications to leverage its powerful capabilities.
