Accenture collaborates with Unilever to enhance productivity through Generative AI

2023-12-07

The global IT consulting firm Accenture and consumer goods multinational company Unilever are strategically collaborating to leverage Unilever's artificial intelligence research and technology implementation to enhance productivity and drive efficiency. This partnership aims to accelerate large-scale growth powered by artificial intelligence.

The collaboration will begin at Unilever's global artificial intelligence lab, Horizon3 Labs, located in Toronto. The focus of this collaboration includes exploring new applications to expand generative artificial intelligence, utilizing assets such as Accenture's AI Navigator and proprietary "Switch".

Last week, Accenture launched a series of services to help companies customize and scale the benefits of generative artificial intelligence. These services include the proprietary generative AI model "Switch", customized technology, model management services, and specialized training programs.

"Switch" enables users to select models based on business environment or factors such as cost and accuracy. These services are designed to help clients quickly access and understand enterprise data, supporting the transition from AI experimentation to scalable implementation.

These offerings also include skill development and collaborations with academic institutions, such as the Foundation Model Scholars Program with Stanford's Human-Centered AI Research Institute. The collaboration between Hartford and Accenture exemplifies how the insurance industry can benefit from generative artificial intelligence in processing policy documents.

These initiatives leverage Accenture's $3 billion investment in data and artificial intelligence, connecting Unilever with experts and utilizing Accenture's ecosystem of partnerships, venture investments, and strategic investments, all within its Advanced AI Center, which holds over 1,450 patents and insights from 300 generative AI projects.
