Capgemini Collaborates with AWS to Integrate Enterprise-Grade Generative AI Across Industries

2024-01-18

Global consulting and technology services company Capgemini has strengthened its strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to promote the widespread application of generative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. This innovative collaboration aims to seamlessly integrate generative AI technology into the operations of organizations across various sectors, overcoming challenges such as cost, scalability, and trust.

Through this expanded partnership, Capgemini and AWS will guide mutual clients in transitioning from experimental pilots to comprehensive generative AI implementations, leveraging Capgemini's extensive network of AWS Centers of Excellence (CoEs). The strategic focus is on utilizing Amazon Bedrock, a secure and high-performance foundational model library that includes Amazon Titan, to deploy applications for specific industry and use case scenarios.

As a key component of this initiative, Capgemini and AWS will collaborate on developing industry-specific solutions and accelerators to enhance clients' total cost of ownership (TCO). This partnership introduces a unique platform for optimizing large language models (LLMs) to achieve cost optimization for generative AI production.

AWS and Capgemini have already collaborated on impactful projects, ranging from facilitating seamless migration to co-developing cloud-based contact centers. Notably, in 2023, they expanded their partnership to accelerate the adoption of generative AI solutions and technologies.

This alliance has proven mutually beneficial for both parties, with Capgemini leveraging AWS' expertise in cloud computing to achieve successful endeavors such as migrating a major European retailer to the cloud and establishing a cloud-based contact center for a global bank.

Capgemini is prepared to expand its global network of AWS Centers of Excellence and invest in training 30,000 employees in advanced AWS technologies over the next three years. This aligns with Capgemini's €2 billion investment in artificial intelligence.

Jerome Simeon, Global Industry Leader at Capgemini, emphasizes the scalability of AI implementations, stating, "For clients, it is crucial to rapidly advance their AI implementations to drive tangible value, optimize investments, and meet their industry-specific needs."

Swami Sivasubramanian, Vice President of AWS Data and AI, highlights the democratization of generative AI, stating, "Through the support of vast enterprise data and human intelligence, mutual clients will be able to build and scale customized generative AI applications that revolve around their business, with privacy and security at the core."

This collaboration also incorporates industry-specific solutions for sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and financial services, showcasing the potential of generative AI in areas such as image recognition, supply chain optimization, and enhancing customer experiences.
