At the end of this month, Zoom's AI companion feature will receive a "delegate-style" upgrade, enabling it to recognize and perform tasks on behalf of users. Professional users will be able to access this feature through the new "Tasks" tab on the Workplace platform, utilizing Zoom's AI to schedule follow-up meetings, generate documents based on meeting content, and create video clips.

Additionally, Zoom will introduce other new features. This month, the Zoom Workplace mobile app will add a voice recording function capable of recording, transcribing, and summarizing in-person meeting content. In May, Zoom will launch a real-time note-taking feature that generates live summaries during meetings and phone calls. These new features, along with the AI companion function, will be available free of charge to Zoom Workplace users.

Zoom's Chief Product Officer stated that AI is progressively being integrated into every aspect of products and interactions, helping users improve productivity in practical and useful ways. The AI companion feature has been incorporated into multiple Zoom products, bringing them together in a way that assists users in completing their work.

Next month, Zoom plans to launch a $12-per-month "Custom AI Companion" add-on service. This service includes access to Zoom's custom avatar feature, allowing users to create their own AI versions for messaging their teams. Meanwhile, Zoom will also offer universal avatar templates for free.
