Apple has unveiled the public beta of iOS/iPadOS 18.2, introducing the second batch of Apple Intelligence features that were previously exclusive to developers. The update includes Genmoji, an AI-powered tool for creating personalized emojis, and Image Playground, which allows users to generate images.
Additionally, the latest version integrates ChatGPT and adds the Visual Intelligence feature, enabling users to conduct searches using the iPhone 16's camera. Siri has been upgraded to deliver more accurate responses to user queries. OpenAI's ChatGPT is also available as an option, providing answers when Siri cannot, and it is free to use without requiring account registration.
However, some Apple Intelligence features remain on the waitlist. Users who were previously granted access will immediately have access to the writing tools, ChatGPT, and Visual Intelligence. Features such as Genmoji, Image Wand, and Image Playground will become available once Apple notifies users that their accounts have been approved.
In parallel, Apple has released the public beta of macOS 15.2, featuring most of the new functionalities found in the iPhone and iPad updates. Notably, macOS 15.2 does not include the Visual Intelligence feature, and Genmoji functionality is currently unavailable on Mac computers.
