OpenAI's generative AI marketplace GPT Store delayed until next year

OpenAI's GPT Store will be delayed until next year, the company said in an email sent to those who registered for its GPT Builder. In the email, OpenAI stated that "unexpected things have kept us busy," which has led to the delay of the GPT Store launch. The company originally planned to release the store in December, slightly later than initially promised at the developer conference in November. To be fair, OpenAI has indeed experienced a lot of significant events in the past week, including the departure of CEO Sam Altman, public resistance from hundreds of employees, the resignation of senior management, social media activity featuring heart-shaped emojis, the welcome of a new CEO, and Altman's eventual return. OpenAI mentioned in its email that while it is still working on developing the store, people should expect updates on ChatGPT. The development team also announced improvements to some features of the custom GPT platform. The GPT Store will serve as a marketplace for users of OpenAI's GPT Builder to sell and share the GPT models they have built. When the company announced the ability to customize GPT, OpenAI stated that it would pay creators a certain amount based on the popularity of their custom GPT.
