Microsoft has been busy recently unifying its various generative AI services under the name Copilot. Recently, the company underwent another rebranding by renaming the Microsoft 365 Chat application in Microsoft Teams to Copilot. Microsoft revealed that the new Copilot application will provide Teams users with advanced AI capabilities similar to those found on microsoft365.com, copilot.microsoft.com, and Bing search engine.

In a recent blog post, Microsoft stated that in addition to the name change, the new Copilot application in Teams has also been upgraded in terms of functionality and user experience. Compared to the previous version of the Microsoft 365 Chat application, the new application offers more intelligent and personalized services.

Notably, the new application introduces higher-quality Copilot text suggestions. These suggestions will be closely linked to users' personal needs, meeting records, file contents, and chat conversations with colleagues in Teams. Additionally, the new application provides an option called Copilot Lab, which includes a rich library of suggestions for users to choose from and use.

Microsoft recommends that users still using the old version of the Microsoft 365 Chat application update to the new Copilot application as soon as possible. The new application will be automatically pinned to the top of the Teams chat list and is currently being rolled out to users worldwide.

According to statistics, as of December last year, the Microsoft Teams app store had over 2,000 applications, with a global monthly active user base exceeding 320 million. Furthermore, Teams has recently introduced a series of new features such as 3D avatars and virtual spaces, further enriching users' meeting experiences.
