ChatGPT Quietly Launches New Homepage Design and Continues Upgrading macOS and Mobile Features

2024-10-10

Users of ChatGPT have noticed that some countries, such as the United States and India, are gradually rolling out new homepage designs, although this change has not been publicly announced. The new homepage features a centrally displayed search or prompt bar, resembling SearchGPT, and offers more advanced prompt suggestions to help users explore different categories and options.

Additionally, the recent macOS update has resolved previous issues encountered when rendering canvases. Now, users of the macOS application can browse canvas content from past web chats. However, the functionality to create and edit new canvases is not yet available, even though the feature has been hidden behind feature flags. It is noteworthy that Canmore tools related to the canvas feature are now selectable from the drop-down menu, which may indicate that the editing capabilities will be enabled soon.

On mobile devices, advanced voice modes have been launched in most regions, and users of desktop applications will also discover new voice options, which can be selected and recognized through the "New" tab in the settings menu. Additionally, a new feature is under development that is likely to allow users to create and share short voice clips directly from the advanced voice mode. This hidden voice interface includes a share icon, which, when clicked, opens an interface displaying a speech bubble with a share button beneath it. Although this feature is not yet available, it shows potential as an interesting new addition. It is expected to first roll out on the iOS application and may become available before launching on macOS.
