Google System Update: Image Descriptions and Voice Message Animations Created by Artificial Intelligence

2023-12-01

Google is rolling out three system updates to Android, Wear OS, and Google TV devices. Each update brings new features to the respective devices. Android devices, such as smartphones, are receiving an update to the Emoji Kitchen sticker pack. You can mix emojis and share them with friends in the form of stickers through Gboard. Google's Android Messages also received a small refresh. There is a new experimental feature that allows users to add a unique background and an animated emoji to voice messages. Google calls this software Voice Moods and says it will help users better express their "current feelings." Nothing conveys emotions better than a fitting emoji. Message reactions have also undergone new changes, going beyond simple likes and even taking up the entire screen. Additionally, you can change the color of chat bubbles. The company has also added an interesting tool that provides AI-generated image descriptions for people with visual impairments. The TalkBack feature will read aloud descriptions of any image, whether from the internet or photos you take. Google has even added new languages to its Live Caption feature, enhancing the ability to answer calls without needing to hear the other person speak. Improved accessibility is always a good thing. Wear OS has also received a series of minor updates. You can now control more smart home devices and lighting groups directly from your watch, which is convenient when creating mood lighting. You can also let your smart home devices know if you're at home or away with a simple tap. There is a new Assistant Routines feature that automates daily tasks, as well as an Assistant At a Glance shortcut that displays information relevant to your day, such as weather and traffic data, on the watch face. As for Google TV, there are ten new free channels to choose from, bringing the total to over 800. These channels do not require additional subscriptions, but they do have advertisements. All of these updates will start rolling out today but may take a few weeks to reach everyone's inbox.
