Recently, Google quietly added a new feature in the 128th Beta test of its Chrome browser, which is similar to the "Circular Search" feature in its mobile application in terms of user experience. This new feature allows users to select and search for interesting areas on web pages by clicking and dragging the mouse, triggering image or text searches based on Google Lens.
Users can quickly obtain relevant information or search results of the selected content without leaving the current page. After users select an area on the web page, Chrome automatically uses Google Lens technology to identify the images or text content within that area and display related search results. This design aims to improve the efficiency of users' information acquisition while browsing the web, making the search process more intuitive and convenient.
It is worth noting that although this new feature has similarities with "Circular Search" in terms of user experience, Google does not directly refer to it as the desktop version of "Circular Search". This may be Google's exploration of how to better introduce innovative mobile features into the desktop platform to further enhance users' search and browsing experience. With further testing and improvement of Chrome 128 Beta, this feature is expected to be officially launched to all users in the future.
