Microsoft releases Copilot Studio, allowing users to build custom AI assistants.

Last week, OpenAI announced the launch of a new GPT platform that allows anyone to create their own version of ChatGPT. Now, Microsoft has also introduced Copilot Studio, a new no-code solution that enables users to create custom Copilot or integrate custom ChatGPT AI chatbots. Microsoft Copilot Studio is primarily designed to extend Microsoft 365 Copilot, a paid service launched earlier this month. Now, businesses can customize Copilot in Microsoft 365 according to their needs, including datasets, automation processes, and even custom copilots that are not based on Microsoft Graph, the foundation of Microsoft 365 Copilot. Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft 365, said, "With Copilot Studio, building AI assistants and connecting to key business systems is as simple as having a conversation with an assistant." IT administrators can use natural language or a graphical interface in Microsoft Copilot Studio to link new data sources from partners such as SAP, Workday, and ServiceNow, while also creating and deploying custom copilots. Spataro added, "Now, you can describe what you want in natural language, and Copilot Studio will help you build and iterate on conversation designs." This could be a copilot on a website, assisting with product-related queries, or a copilot in a quarterly financial announcement. Copilot Studio also serves as a monitoring and analytics tool for IT administrators to track the usage of copilots, including controlling who can build custom copilots. Additionally, it serves as a hub for integrating custom ChatGPT chatbots created using OpenAI's GPT platform. Spataro stated, "As part of the strategic partnership between OpenAI and Microsoft, we ensure seamless integration of OpenAI's services within the existing Microsoft ecosystem. In line with the latest announcement from OpenAI's developer day, we are committed to supporting GPT so that creators can fully leverage this technology in Copilot Studio." The release of Microsoft's Copilot Studio is part of a broader push in the field of artificial intelligence, including new features for enterprises, a revamped Bing Chat, and even dedicated CPUs and AI chips tailored to provide these experiences.
