Amazon has recently launched an innovative generative artificial intelligence feature that greatly simplifies the process of creating high-quality product listings for sellers. Now, sellers only need to provide the URL of their website, and Amazon's advanced AI can automatically generate complete product pages, including detailed product descriptions and beautiful images.
In the past, creating product pages on Amazon required sellers to invest a lot of effort in carefully writing and inputting accurate and comprehensive product details. However, this new AI tool completely changes the situation. It can easily convert existing product pages from other websites into a format suitable for Amazon stores, saving sellers a lot of time and effort.
Mary Beth Westmoreland, Vice President of Global Selling Partner Experience at Amazon, said, "Now, we enable sellers to conveniently convert their product pages from other platforms into a format suitable for Amazon stores, greatly reducing their workload."
This generative AI feature is developed based on some successful initiatives by Amazon. These initiatives allow sellers to automatically generate titles, descriptions, and attributes by providing a small amount of descriptive words or product images. Amazon revealed that these features have attracted over 100,000 selling partners, and most of the product listings generated by AI have been successfully submitted, with a nearly 80% acceptance rate for suggested attributes, requiring almost no modifications.
By comparing the content generated by AI with the content generated without AI, Amazon found that the AI-generated content has improved in terms of clarity, accuracy, and detail. This helps increase the exposure of products in customer searches and improve product discoverability. Sellers also provided feedback that this feature helps them save valuable time and allows them to focus more on product development, which is particularly valuable for small businesses.
With the continuous learning and progress of generative AI technology, Amazon expects to provide sellers with more precise and relevant results, further reducing their workload and improving the effectiveness of generated listings. Westmoreland emphasized, "Amazon is constantly developing new powerful AI tools and capabilities, and we are confident in the future potential of these products and their positive impact on sellers."
This development has a particularly significant impact on small businesses. They will benefit from the saved time in creating listings, allowing them to allocate more resources to product development and other key business areas. In addition, adopting generative AI not only helps improve efficiency but also enhances the customer experience by providing clearer, more accurate, and more detailed product listings.
Currently, this URL-based generative AI feature is gradually being rolled out and will be fully available to US sellers in the coming weeks.
