xAI Corporation, led by renowned entrepreneur Elon Musk, has recently launched a web version of the Grok AI chatbot following the release of its iOS app. This update allows users to access all services provided by Grok AI without needing to visit X.com or hold an X account.
Users can experience this web service by visiting grok.com. Upon first use, entering only the birth year is required to start utilizing features such as real-time information gathering, question answering, and image generation. Moreover, various modes like "Automatic", "Visual", "Search", and "Model Only" are available under the menu below the input box, offering users better control over Grok AI responses.
While logging into Grok.com does not require an X account, connecting with one via Google or email login options is also supported. However, users who do not link their accounts to an X Premium membership may face certain limitations under the free plan, including being restricted to generating 10 images every two hours, having three image analysis credits per day, and four chances for image creation daily.
After logging in, users can enable "Temporary Mode" from the top right corner. In this mode, current chat contents will neither be saved to history nor used for model training. For security reasons, these temporary chats might be retained for up to 30 days. Additionally, users can review chat histories through links at the top right corner and adjust appearance preferences, including light, dark, or system default modes, via the settings menu.
The launch of the web version of Grok AI broadens user accessibility channels and reduces entry barriers, enabling more individuals to enjoy the convenience of AI technology.
