Recently, Shengshu Technology has partnered with a leading domestic novel platform to promote the application of AI in the anime short drama market. Vidu, its AI video generation platform, has secured the adaptation rights for seven popular web novels to create concept short films and launched a short drama adaptation project for hit novels.
The seven selected works, including "Battle God" and "Nine Star Overlord Decision," are classic novels with over 10 billion reads. They span various genres such as fantasy, sci-fi, martial arts, and urban romance, offering strong visual impact and cinematic potential. These works will be the first to be transformed into anime shorts using AI video technology, presenting them to the public in a new format.
In the past, adapting novel IPs into films was restricted by high costs and long production cycles due to the complex and time-consuming traditional animation process. However, the introduction of AI animation technology enables automated generation of scripts, storyboards, materials, and video footage, significantly reducing production time and increasing efficiency. This allows more novel IPs to reach wider audiences through dynamic imagery.
To encourage user participation in the AI short drama initiative, Vidu has launched the "Popular Web Novel IP Anime Adaptation Contest." Participants need to create a one-minute trailer for a chosen web novel IP, using Vidu’s animation generation capabilities to produce high-quality work at low cost and high efficiency. The contest combines public voting with expert reviews, and winners will receive cash prizes and have the opportunity to participate in the development of subsequent episodes.
