Rabbit R1 Sells Out First Batch of 10,000 Units After CES Debut

2024-01-12

The pocket AI gadget R1 from Rabbit, designed to replace your use of applications, has sold out its first batch - and the second batch as well.

In a post on Wednesday on the X platform, startup Rabbit announced that they sold out the first production run of 10,000 devices in just one day. Rabbit wrote, "When we started manufacturing the R1, we internally said we would be satisfied if we could sell 500 devices on launch day. Within 24 hours, we exceeded that number by 20 times!" The first batch of pre-orders is expected to start shipping in March.

The company subsequently launched the second batch of pre-sales, but by Thursday, that batch of 10,000 devices was also sold out. Now the third batch of devices is available for pre-order, with an estimated delivery date between May and June 2024.

Rabbit introduced the R1 at CES on Tuesday, which features a compact 2.88-inch touchscreen and runs the company's proprietary Rabbit OS system. It utilizes a feature called "Large Action Model," which was demonstrated during the event, acting as a "universal controller" for applications. This allows it to perform various tasks through a single interface, such as playing music, purchasing groceries, and sending messages, without the need for your phone. It also enables you to train the device on how to interact with specific applications.
