2024-04-30

Recently, Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA, was interviewed by CBS's "60 Minutes" program, discussing the profound impact of artificial intelligence on businesses, society, and human work. Huang explicitly stated in the interview that despite the continuous advancement of AI technology, it will not lead to the complete disappearance of human work.

When discussing the assistance of AI in business development, Huang pointed out that as AI technology becomes more widely applied, businesses will naturally achieve scale expansion under its promotion. He emphasized that the growth of business profits is complementary to the improvement of productivity and gave an example: "I have never seen a company increase its profits without hiring more employees." Huang firmly believes that although certain jobs may be replaced by AI, humans still possess irreplaceable value.

"Even if some jobs are eliminated, I believe that humans still want to be involved," explained Huang. "Because we have good judgment, there are situations that machines cannot understand." He emphasized that human creativity, emotions, and complex decision-making abilities are difficult for AI to reach, and these abilities play a crucial role in driving social progress and business development.

In the interview, Huang also introduced NVIDIA's latest GPU chip, "Blackwell." He stated that this chip will greatly promote the development of AI technology and emphasized, "The capabilities of AI are limitless." Huang believes that AI will play an important role in fields such as drug discovery, material science, and space exploration, helping humans solve problems that cannot be accomplished solely by their own abilities.

In addition, Huang predicted that in the near future, "humanoid robots" will become a popular product, with manufacturing costs far lower than people's expectations. He believes that humanoid robots will demonstrate higher flexibility and "versatility" in certain specific artificial manufacturing environments, thereby bringing higher production efficiency to businesses.

Huang's remarks have sparked widespread attention in the industry regarding the future development of AI. Industry experts generally believe that although AI technology will continuously drive social progress and business development, human work will not disappear. On the contrary, with the widespread application of AI technology, humans will be able to better utilize their creativity, emotions, and complex decision-making abilities to collectively drive social advancement.
