Baracoda's BMind Smart Mirror is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and claims to determine your emotions, providing affirmations, visual effects, and more to improve your mood. This smart mirror has already won the 2024 CES Smart Home Innovation Award. It combines AI and natural language processing (NLP) to analyze the emotions of the person in front of the mirror through facial expressions, gestures, and tone. It then adapts to your current mood, offering light therapy, guided meditation, and self-affirmation to help improve your emotions and better manage your stress. The technology works through the CareOS platform, which allows third-party providers to connect their applications for display within the mirror interface. Its specifications include an omnidirectional microphone for voice detection, a 4K ultra-high-definition camera, and Face ID as a security measure to unlock the mirror. In addition to mental health features, BMind also offers customization options such as guided tooth brushing, skin analysis and guidance, and monitoring of bathroom water temperature. It is important to note that the combination of artificial intelligence and mental health can be tricky, partly due to potential algorithm biases and privacy concerns. Baracoda emphasizes that the CareOS platform stores health and personal data locally and will never share it with any party without explicit user request and consent. The BMind mirror will be available for purchase by the end of 2024 at a price range of $500 to $1000.
