Meta is rolling out a test version of its real-time AI image generation feature for WhatsApp users in the US. Simply start typing text into the prompt for the image in a chat with Meta AI, and you will see the created image gradually change as you add more details.

In an example shared by Meta, a user entered the prompt, 'Imagine a football match on Mars.' The generated image quickly transformed from an ordinary football player to an entire football field on the Martian landscape. If you have access to the test version, simply open a chat window with Meta AI and start your prompt with the word 'Imagine' to experience this feature firsthand.

Furthermore, Meta states that its Meta Llama 3 model is now capable of generating 'clearer, higher-quality' images and has made significant improvements in displaying text. You can even request Meta AI to turn any image you provide into an animation, easily converting it into a GIF format to share with friends.

In addition to WhatsApp, the real-time image generation feature is also available to US users through Meta AI's web version. This new feature is part of Meta's widespread rollout of AI capabilities across all its applications, including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger.
