2024-10-22

Microsoft has announced the launch of new AI features designed to empower businesses in automating and optimizing their business processes. Starting next month, through Copilot Studio, this autonomous agent functionality will be available to small and medium-sized enterprises in the public preview version. Meanwhile, Microsoft is working on integrating ten new autonomous agents into its Dynamics 365 business software.

Copilot Studio offers businesses a platform to create bespoke AI agents that fully utilize the information stored in Microsoft 365 Graph. These agents can represent employees, teams, or entire departments, automating daily tasks. Copilot Studio acts as the central hub for interacting with these agents.

For example, a Copilot agent can automatically respond to incoming emails by retrieving the sender's details, reviewing past communication records, and using generative AI technology to trigger a series of appropriate response actions.

Microsoft showcases multiple Copilot use cases, including an IT helpdesk agent capable of autonomously handling work orders, an agent that assists with employee onboarding processes, and a sales and service concierge agent that remembers customer preferences and proactively suggests upsell opportunities.

According to Jared Spataro, Microsoft's Corporate AI Marketing Director, 60% of Fortune 500 companies are already utilizing the Microsoft 365 Copilot AI solution. Telecom provider Lumen Technologies, industrial conglomerate Honeywell, and financial software provider Finastra have shared their success stories in a blog post, highlighting how this solution has enhanced operational efficiency and reduced costs.
