Voicemod releases new feature: Users can create and share AI voices

2023-12-01

AI voice cloning technology allows anyone to imitate the voices of Joe Rogan, Oprah, or even Darth Vader. However, a new set of features recently introduced by Voicemod should enable users to easily create and share their own custom AI voices. Users can now utilize the AI voice changer to create and adjust unique synthesized voices, and then share them with other users through the community voice feature.

For those unfamiliar with the gaming world, Voicemod is an AI voice transformation program popular among streamers and gamers. Prior to this update, it offered over 100 AI voice options, including popular fantasy characters, celebrity actors, and astronauts. Users can now use Voicemod's AI voice creator feature to create a unique synthesized voice, selecting various genders, ages, and tones. Additionally, users can fine-tune their synthesized voice using the Voicelab feature, without the need for Audacity, by altering pitch, volume, frequency, and adding sound effects. According to Voicemod, this will result in nearly "infinite" voice possibilities. Users can also share their DIY voices on the community voice platform and access other users' voices.

"Essentially, Voicemod has created a tool that allows users to start with one of the AI-generated Voicemod voice 'characters' and then adjust various parameters and effects to create an entirely new AI-driven voice. They can then choose to share their creations with the wider community through the community voice feature," explained Jaime Bosch, CEO and co-founder of Voicemod, in an email.

As AI voice technology becomes increasingly prevalent, the companies behind these tools face few legal barriers. Since voices are not protected by copyright, voice cloning AI tools can replicate countless famous voices, whether real or fictional. Given that community voice and AI voice changers are not about copying existing voices but creating entirely new ones, there is little cause for concern.

Voicemod is available for macOS, Windows 10, and 11.
