Inflection AI Launches Enterprise Edition AI System

2024-10-08

Inflection AI, the company behind the renowned Pi chatbot, has recently launched its new AI system tailored for large enterprises—Inflection for Enterprise. This system is built on the Inflection 3.0 model family and is supported by a robust ecosystem designed to empower businesses with comprehensive control over their AI capabilities.

Founded in 2022 by Mustafa Suleyman, Karen Simonyan, and Reid Hoffman, Inflection AI quickly emerged as a leader in user-centric and empathetic AI technology. However, earlier this year, the company underwent significant changes when Suleyman and Simonyan departed to join Microsoft's AI team, prompting Inflection to refocus on its new "AI Studio" initiative. The release of Inflection for Enterprise marks the first major outcome of this strategic shift, specifically designed to address the unique needs of businesses with a strong emphasis on security.

During a live demonstration, representatives from Inflection showcased how the system seamlessly integrates with existing corporate workflows while adhering to stringent data security protocols. To achieve this, Inflection has established a strategic partnership with UiPath to provide the necessary automation support.

Inflection for Enterprise aims to solve common challenges businesses face when integrating AI, such as generic yet unsuitable chatbots and data security concerns. Since Sean White assumed the role of CEO in March, the company has been working closely with the chief technology and executive officers to address these pain points.

Unlike off-the-shelf models, Inflection’s solution is entirely controllable by enterprises, allowing businesses to fine-tune the AI according to their unique operational needs while maintaining full control over data and infrastructure. The system supports on-premises, cloud, or hybrid deployments, offering flexibility without compromising security.

Additionally, Inflection for Enterprise incorporates Intel’s Gaudi 3 AI accelerators and Intel Tiber AI Cloud, providing a higher cost-performance ratio compared to similar products. This collaboration with Intel positions Inflection prominently within the evolving AI ecosystem, enabling businesses to deploy AI more quickly and cost-effectively.

Inflection for Enterprise not only offers customizable models but also introduces a proprietary fine-tuning system that employs reinforcement learning based on employee feedback. This ensures that the AI aligns with each company’s values, culture, and operational requirements. The system is designed to transition from basic chatbot functionalities to more "agent-like" capabilities, deeply integrating into corporate workflows to enhance organizational and individual performance.

At the core of Inflection for Enterprise is Inflection 3.0, which comprises two distinct models: Pi (3.0) and Productivity (3.0). The Pi model supports the overall Pi experience, focusing on backstory, emotional intelligence, productivity, and security, making it excellent for customer service chatbots. In contrast, the Productivity model is optimized for following instructions, making it suitable for tasks that require JSON output or strict adherence to provided guidelines. Both models feature an 8k context window.

Furthermore, Inflection has launched a commercial API that enables developers to build advanced conversational AI applications integrated into enterprise environments. The API’s pricing structure is competitive, with both Pi and Productivity models priced at $2.50 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.

For this startup, founded only two years ago, the release signifies a pivotal shift in its strategic direction. With its advanced models, flexible deployment options, and focus on enabling businesses to control their AI capabilities, Inflection for Enterprise is set to become a key consideration for enterprises looking to leverage AI effectively.
